Who can participate

We are all capable of overcoming our inner obstacles. Men and women, of all nationalities, GOV GAMES is a chance for you to work together and achieve the impossible. Are you physically fit and ready to take on demanding challenges? Then your team is waiting for you.

Team Formation

All teams should take into consideration the following:

  • Participants shall be a minimum of 18 years old and must be employed for a minimum of 3 months by the government organization, which they are representing.

  • If it is found that a participant is not employed by the organisation, the organisation’s team will be automatically disqualified.

  • All participants must be physically and mentally fit to take on such a strenuous and demanding obstacle course.

  • All participants must be confident in the water and be able to swim.

  • All participants should sign the waiver and must have gone through the necessary registration process to be eligible to participate.

  • Each player can only compete in one category. If they are registered in both categories, Government Entities and Community Category, the teams they belong to will therefore be disqualified.

  • Participants shall be a minimum of 18 years old.

  • Must be a legal resident of the United Arab Emirates.

  • Must have qualified at Gov Games pre-qualification event.

  • Must be able to cope with extreme conditions.

  • Must be in good health and capable of participating in strenuous athletic activities.

  • Free of any existing or recurring injuries.

  • The teams can be mixed, male or female gender.

  • Team name can represent a company or an organisation, provided they are current employees and present NOC from the company.

  • 5 main team members, and 2 subsitute. At the pre-qualification event 5 team members will compete, if the team is qualified to participate in Gov Games main event, they must add 2 subsistute and register as 7 members. 

  • Each player can only compete in one category. If they are registered in both categories, Government Entities and Community Category, the teams they belong to will therefore be disqualified.

  • All walks of life coming together to represent their city.

  • Each city will assemble a team of 6 members. 3 of the 6 members should be citizens of this city the remaining 3 can be either residents or citizens.

  • Each team should present an official document confirming their representation of the city issued by government entity to participate in GOV GAMES.

  • Everyone is welcome to participate, starting from the public to government employees. *Passport or identification card should be valid and issued by the represented country.

  • Participants must be between the ages of 10 - 13 (between March 3, 2010 and March 4, 2014).

  • Teams must consist of 5 main team members and 2 substitutes, excluding the coach.

  • Participants must be in good health and free of any existing, recurring injuries (e.g. asthma, or heart complications). Should be capable of participating in
    strenuous athletic activities for extended period of time.

  • Participants are required to register with a team led by a coach who is 21 years of age or older.

  • Teams can be of mixed age and gender.

  • All participants, including the coach, must have be a valid Emirates ID.
     

  • Participants can only compete for one team.

  • Participants need conset from their parent or guardian to participate. The parent or guardian need to submit a valid Emirates ID.

  • Each coach can oversee only one team.
     

  • Registration is available exclusively through www.govgame.ae
     

Team Manager

The participating entity should assign a team manager who will be responsible for the following:

  • Register team on GOV GAMES Platform
  • Ensure all team members register their personal details correctly and according to the specified timeline
  • Responsible for all communications with the event organizers, including but not limited to registration and event questions on behalf of his/her team
  • Ensure that his/her team collects their correct sports attire from the specified stores within the specified timeline and ensure they wear them during the competition
  • Must attend the orientation and draw proceedings
  • Ensure that his/her team arrives to the site and checks in on time for the competition
  • Always represents the team and will be responsible for advising the relevant officials of substitutions, appeals and any other required communication
  • Responsible for the conduct of his/her team throughout the entire competition
  • The team manager must be a 'non-competing' team member

Team Captain

One player is assigned as the team captain, and his/her tasks are as follows:

  • Responsible for your teams conduct and morale throughout the event

  • Responsible to make strategic decisions regarding which team members will participate for which obstacles

  • Responsible to ensure your team is on time for each obstacle briefing according to the rules

  • The team captain must be one of the 'competing' team members

Required Mental Agility

  • Ability to work as one team in harmony
  • Tactics and strategic thinking
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure

Required Physical Agility

  • Running capacity (1 km in a minimum of a 6 min time)
  • Physical/Full body strength
  • Ability to balance
  • Ability to swim
  • No fear of heights

FOOD & BEVERAGE VENDORS PARTICIPATION RULES

Gov Games attracts diverse food and beverage outlets, enhancing the overall visitor experience while creating opportunities for small, medium, and national businesses.

General Conditions For Participations

Vendors must be licensed in the UAE

Adhering to safety regulations approved by the relevant authorities

Offering meals tailored for children at suitable prices (excluding companies belonging to Category A)

Submitting booth design aligning with the event's theme and the size of the designated space

Offering food items that are quick to prepare

Adhering to any conditions set by the bid committee

Category A:

Vendors participating as sponsors

Sponsorship amount must be at least AED 250,000

Benefits provided :

  • Promotion of the vendor within the food court and through advertising channels
  • The opportunity to present food to VIP guests
  • Electricity and water utilities
  • Space for the booth
  • Internet connection
  • Seating for visitors

 

Category B:

Vendors participating under the open tender

Vendors must adhere to a participation fee of AED 1,000

Benefits provided:

  • Electricity and water utilities
  • Space for the booth
  • Internet connection
  • Seating for visitors

  • Chest pain when exercising
  • Blood pressure disorder
  • Any pain in the bones or joints
  • Any feeling of dizziness or fainting during excessive movement
